Eligibility: Must have passed any one of the following examinations with 50% or more marks in the aggregate of five Subjects. Candidates with compartment are not eligible to apply.
Senior School Certificate Examination with all subjects (12 year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education

APTITUDE TEST: The Aptitude Test will consist of the following papers:-

OBJECT DRAWING

(for all the Specializations except Art History)

Drawing of objects with light and shade showing background and foreground in pencil on ½ imperial size paper.

FOR ART HISTORY SPECIALIZATION ONLY
Candidates to identify and write their views on three Visuals on art, artists, period etc.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE (for all the specializations)
Subjective and Objective type questions related to Art, Personalities, Events & Current Affairs (Written Paper in Hindi or English )
COMPOSITION FOR APPLIED ART
Illustration from memory on a given subject in water color, tempera, ink or oil pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.

FOR ART HISTORY SPECIALIZATION
Candidates to write an analysis/premise on a topic to be given at the time of the Examination in about 800 words in either English or Hindi

FOR PAINTING SPECIALIZATION
Painting from memory on a given subject in water color tempera, ink or oil pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.

FOR PRINT MAKING SPECIALIZATION

Painting from memory on a given subject in water color tempera, ink or pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.
FOR SCULPTURE SPECIALIZATION
Modeling from memory in clay on a given subject.

FOR VISUAL COMMUNICATION

A test in Design to asses concept, application, ability in using line, color and space in the visualization on a subject to be given at the time of the Examination, in tempera, ink or oil pastels on ¼ imperial size paper

Weightage of 60% marks will be given for Aptitude Test (as listed below).

Weightage of 40% marks will be given for marks secured by the candidate in the 10+2 or equivalent examination.

NIFT entrance Long term preparatory weekend course (for IX / X students) Specially designed to help students interested in design, fashion & creative courses, at early stages of their schooling, to gain in-depth, slow paced & extensive knowledge throughout a span of 3/4years. This course will make students all entrance exams ready in the design industry, while continuously nurturing their creative abilities in the able guidance of core faculty members. We keep in mind the hectic schedules of students. Classroom sessions cover everything, so students have to devote approximately half an hour only everyday for homework and their school studies are not at all hampered or anyway affected
NIFT entrance Regular term preparatory weekend/ weekdays course (for XI / XII/ XII Passed students) Specially designed to help these students interested in design, fashion & creative courses, to gain in-depth, fast paced & extensive knowledge throughout a span of 1 / 2 years. This course will make students all entrance exams ready in the design industry, while continuously nurturing their Creative & General abilities in the able guidance of core faculty members. We keep in mind the hectic schedules of students. Classroom sessions cover everything, so students have to devote approximately half an hour only everyday for homework and their school studies are not at all hampered or anyway affected
